Barolo and Barbaresco are two of Italy’s most celebrated red wines.
Each wine is made exclusively with Nebbiolo, an ancient grape native to Piedmont and named for the region’s “nebbia”—the fog that cools the vineyards, lending to the grape’s distinct flavor.
In bottles of Barolo, Nebbiolo takes on a bolder form, with powerful tannins and remarkable complexity. Barbaresco, while equally elegant, offers a softer expression, with lifted aromatics, and a graceful, silky character.
In the heart of Piedmont, Nebbiolo finds its purest expression through patience, precision, and a deep respect for place.

Wines Inspired
by Our Story

Our Family
Winemaking has always been at the heart of our family. While our heritage is deeply connected to Veneto, our passion for wine has led us to discover and embrace other remarkable Italian regions, each with its own identity, traditions and terroir.
Piedmont holds a special place in this journey. We fell in love with its rolling hills, its people, its food and its extraordinary winemaking culture. Belalto was born from this connection and from our desire to create wines that authentically express the character of this unique territory.
Every bottle bears the signature of Armando De Zan, who carries on our family tradition of winemaking together with his wife, Elviana Candoni, and their daughters, Barbara and Caterina.

The Langhe, A Landscape Unlike Any Other
The Langhe, a small patch of Piedmont land, is one of Italy’s most revered wine regions, known for its breaktaking beauty and vibrant viticultural heritage. Here, vine-covered hills meet light, silence, and seasonality in a landscape that feels both carefully cultivated and deeply natural.
It is this singular environment—its soils and weather and wonder—that gives character to Barolo and Barbaresco. Here, Nebbiolo is grown, crushed, and aged, developing the warmth and depth that defines these wines.

BAROLO
is the rare wine that can transform any night into a special occasion.
Open a bottle of Barolo, and you will find yourself transported to its origin place among the luscious Langhe hills in Piedmont. Made exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes, this red wine has a strong tannic structure and high acidity that inspires slow sipping.
Given its intensity and complexity, Barolo pairs beautifully with rich classic Italian dishes, like pasta with ragu, braised meats, and truffle risotto. If you have the patience to age a bottle, you’ll find that this wine only gets better with time.
BARBARESCO
is a red wine destined to create and color your happiest memories.
Produced in the lower hills of the Langhe region in Piedmont, Barbaresco offers its own exceptional experience of Nebbiolo. This elegant, yet approachable wine draws you in with the fragrance of fruits and flowers, and enchants through to the last sip.
Shimmering in shades of ruby and garnet, Barbaresco arrives at the table with an air of luxury that can elevate a simple spread of cured meats and aged cheeses or match the rich flavors of well-marbled strip steak. Uncork your bottle today for pure pleasure or put it aside and discover how exquisitely this wine ages.
